Jessica McCully - Owner
Jessica established Contemporary Dance Studio in 2009 and is the owner/director. Since then, she has taught thousands of dancers and transformed CDS into a top-notch, award winning studio offering several styles of dance as well as a certification in Acrobatic Arts.
Jessica received her early dance training from Siouxland Movement Arts Center. She danced with Siouxland Civic Dance Association, performing in numerous ballets including leading roles in the Nutcracker and Coppelia. Jessica was captain of the Sioux City West High dance squad leading the team to numerous State and National titles. She won the State Solo Championship Title for the ISDTA, large school division in 2001.
Jessica graduated from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Studies. In Las Vegas she performed in various productions including “Shag with a Twist” and “The Record Shop”. She also appeared in numerous stage productions at the University of Nevada. After graduation in 2001 Jessica performed professionally as a principal dancer with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
She began her teaching career in Las Vegas at the prestigious Gymcats Academy and has been teaching in Iowa for over 15 years. She was the director and choreographer for the Iowa Barnstormers arena football team in Des Moines. She has choreographed for the Morningside College dance team, and for musicals and dance concerts in the Siouxland area. Jessica’s students and choreography have won numerous awards and top honors in regional and national competitions throughout the years. Her students have been accepted into college dance programs as well as into the Joffrey Ballet School Trainee program.
Jessica is the Founder and Artistic Director for Flux Dance Company. Her mission is to expand the reach of dance as a performing art for youth in the Siouxland Tri-State area. Through Flux, Jessica is able to mentor to dancers to gain a strong foundation in dance and prepare for professional-level study and performance beyond Siouxland. Jessica created Flux-Ability, a community service project administered through Flux Dance Company, to provide dance lessons and performance opportunities for children with special needs. Through Flux Dance Company Jessica has been able to bring talent from across the country into Sioux City to hold master classes and workshops here. Some of the highly acclaimed and nationally known artists and teachers she has hosted include: Tracie Stanfield, Matthew Shaffer, Yusha Sorzano, Matthew Prescott, Nikki Snelson, Chelsea Hightower, and many more.
Recently, Jessica has partnered with Tracie Stanfield of New York’s Broadway Dance Center & Steps for several projects including “Mainstage Dance Convention Competition" and “United by Dance”.
Jessica was chosen as a “Top ten under 40 winner” for Siouxland Magazine’s 2018 Edition.
Molli Ruth
Molli joined Contemporary Dance Studio in 2012 and teaches hip hop, tap, jazz, ballet, children’s combo classes, and acro.
Molli began dancing at age 2, training in a variety of dance styles at Siouxland Movement Arts Center. She has danced in New York and Chicago, taking classes and workshops from master teachers, including Gus Giordano, Lisa Eardley, Joe Tremaine, and Ray Leaper.
Her performance credits include leading roles in Cinderella, The Nutcracker and La Fille Mal Gardee and supporting roles in Coppella, Cats, The Sound of Music and Les Miserables.
She was also a member of the Morningside College dance team. Molli has taught dance at Heart & Soul Studio and at Siouxland Movement Arts Center.
She has a passion for working with children and holds a degree in Elementary and Special Education with a minor in Dance from Morningside College.
Jackie Dailey
Jackie joined Contemporary Dance Studio in 2014 and teaches children’s combo classes. Jackie began dance at age 3 with Jim Christenson at Sioux City Music and Dance, where she continued to study ballet, tap, jazz and pointe for several years. Upon Jim’s retirement, she continued her dance education with her mother (Jameley Levich) at “the dance studio”.
Jackie has attended master classes in Sioux City, Omaha, and Chicago. While attending the University of Iowa, she took university classes in classical ballet, modern, tap, and jazz. Jackie received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa and her elementary education licensing through Briar Cliff University.
Her full time job is being a mommy to her two little girls. Since the opening of Contemporary Dance Studio in 2009, Jackie has continued her training in the adult technique class, instructed by Jessica McCully and Alexis Pangborn.
Kloie Haroldson
Kloie joined CDS in 2025 and will be teaching combo dance classes, Acrobatic Arts and Competition classes.
Kloie Haroldson is a performer, choreographer and teacher from Sioux City. She received her early dance training from Contemporary Dance Studio where she studied ballet, jazz, modern, tap, contemporary and hip hop. She completed her teaching internship at Contemporary Dance Studio. She graduated from North High School in 2021 where she was a member of the dance team all four years.
Throughout the years, Kloie has participated in numerous dance workshops, conventions and classes with Masters Teachers. She has traveled to New York City to take classes with Broadway Dance Center. She has taken workshops with Tracy Stanfield of New York's Sysnthesis Dance Company. She has also been to numerous dance conventions including Nuvo Dance Convention, Artistic Dance Exchange, Mainstage Competition Convention and American College Dance Association.
Kloie was a principal dancer with Flux Dance Company of Sioux City where she has received extensive training and education. With Flux she danced as a featured performer in numerous performances throughout the community.
Kloie graduated from Minnesota State University in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Dance - major emphasis in Private Studio Teaching and a Marketing minor. Throughout her college years she performed in numerous concerts at Minnestota State University including pieces by Daniel Stark, Heather Klopchin, and Allison Doughty.
2026-2027 CDS Instructor Internships
Morgan Smith
Morgan began her internship at Contemporary Dance Studio in 2026 and teaches children’s combo classes.
She first started dancing at Sandy Keynes at the age of two. She then joined Contemporary Dance Studio at the age of three and has been ever since. Morgan currently trains in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, pointe, contemporary and lyrical.
Throughout her years of dance, she has been to many conventions including MainStage and Fluid Dance. At these conventions, she has had the opportunity to work with amazing choreographers such as Tracie Stanfield, Matthew Shaffer, and many more.
Morgan has been a teacher’s assistant at CDS for the past 5 years, where she has worked with many different ages of dancers. She has taught these dancers ballet, tap, acro, jazz, and lyrical. Throughout those years of being a teacher’s assistant, her passion of being a dance teacher has grown tremendously.
Not only has Morgan had experience in studio dance, she also has experience in High school dance. Morgan is a member of the West High’s Dance Team. On this team, they have competited at State earning many Division I ratings and earning the title of being a State Champion in Hoopla. Morgan has also competed at State solos where she continues to receive Division I ratings.
Outside of dance, Morgan accelerates in school where she has a GPA of 3.7. She continues to take AP classes, Honor classes, and College classes.
Morgan has a strong passion for working with many different young dancers. She has worked with ages ranging from 2 year olds, to 9 year olds. She is super excited to teach dance and to provide her knowledge and love for the art of dance.
Hailey Sheffer
Hailey started her internship at Contemporary Dance Studio in 2026, where she will be teaching children’s classes.
Hailey joined Contemporary Dance Studio at the age of 4 and has been dancing there ever since. She trains in jazz, tap, contemporary, and hip hop, and has developed a strong technical foundation along with a passion for performance and teaching.
Hailey has had the opportunity to work with industry professionals, including Tracie Stanfield, and has trained with various choreographers at MainStage and Fluid dance conventions, where she has continued to grow as both a dancer and artist.
She has been involved in show choir for the past three years and is active in her school community through student council, strengthening her leadership and teamwork skills.
Hailey has a passion for working with children and has been a teacher’s assistant at Contemporary Dance Studio for the past four years, working with young dancers who train in ballet and tap. She enjoys helping dancers build confidence, improve technique, and develop a love for dance.
She attends Bishop Heelan high school and plans to attend college to pursue a career in dance education, where she hopes to continue inspiring young dancers through teaching.
Lanie Zimney
Lanie began her internship at Contemporary Dance Studio in 2026 and teaches children’s combo classes.
She began dancing at the age of three at Sandy Keynes and joined Contemporary Dance Studio at six. Lanie has trained in a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, pointe, tap, hip hop, and acro.
Lanie has been a teacher’s assistant at CDS for the past four years, where she has gained experience working with young dancers and developing her passion for teaching. She has also been a member of Flux Dance Company and has worked with a variety of professional choreographers through conventions and workshops.
In addition to studio dancing, Lanie is a student at North High School where she is a member of the North High Dance Team. She has competed at state, earning Division I ratings for her solo, and has traveled to nationals in Florida where her team placed fifth in the nation for kick. She has also been part of multiple state championship routines.
Lanie has participated in Flux-Ability classes, working with special needs dancers, and she has a strong passion for helping others. She loves working with children and is excited to continue sharing her love of dance through teaching.
Outside of dance, Lanie is enrolled in the CNA program through the Career Academy, where she is working toward earning various certifications in the medical field.
