Recreational Classes 

1st grade - 12th grade

 

Student's enroll in recreational classes by grade

 

**Dancers who are enrolled in the Performance Classes are encouraged to enroll in the tap and hip hop recreational classes at a discounted rate**

 

 

Mini Rec. (1st and 2nd grade)

 

The class curriculum consists of ballet, tap and hip hop. Each class all three techniques are taught. At this age level the focus is on introducing the basics of each dance style through vocabulary, technique, and combinations.

 

Class Length: 75 minutes once a week

 

Recital Dance: Hip Hop 

 

Class Attire: Leotard and Tights, Pink 205 Capezio Ballet Shoes, Caramel 3800 Capezio

Tap Shoes, black & white hightop converse style shoes. 

 

 

 

Tap (Youth - 3rd, 4th & 5th / Junior - 6th & 7th / Senior - 8th through 12th)

 

Creating rhythms and sounds, tap dancing is truly unique. Tappers develop musicality, rhythm, quick thinking, and the ability to "hear" music. Tap is regarded as a truly American dance form that has been passed down from generation to generation.

 

Class Length: 45 minutes once a week

 

Recital Dance: Tap

 

Class Attire:Any comfortable workout clothing, no jeans. Capezio Riff Slip on CG18 or Flex Master Tap CG16 black.

 

 

 

Hip Hop (Youth - 3rd, 4th & 5th / Junior - 6th & 7th / Senior - 8th through 12th)

 

Street dance style integrating jazz technique. Students will learn the latest new dance moves. This style of dance allows the body to move freely and funky, while integrating the dancer's own personal style.

 

Class Length: 45 minutes once a week

 

Recital Dance: Hip Hop

 

Class Attire: Any comfortable workout clothing, no jeans. Clean shoes that have not been worn outside.
